I was recently reminded of how, during the pandemic, the team of Latin teachers I was on and I got creative with virtual classrooms. We all explored Google Classroom and each learned how to navigate online learning in a crunch (AKA, a phone call from the district over dinner saying we were going digital). I am now teaching a Latin novice class (along with mythology, and Latin III and AP Latin) and wanted to explore this more. I've created a virtual classroom + scavenger hunt activity for my novice class. We've been studying ancient Roman pets and domestic animals (more on that coming soon!) and (1) I felt we needed a break from the routine and (2) they were asking about an "alphabet". So, this is what I've come up with. I will leave it to you to explore, but I've shared a brief list of the resources used below along with the virtual classroom itself and a copy of the activity I asked students to complete. 100% of the credit for creating a lot of these activities goes to those who I've listed. Maximas gratias vobis ago.

This PageIs dedicated to CI... But also... dedicated to what CI really is: meeting students where they are and helping them feel safe and make progress. I started this page after the efficacy and existence of research on CI was called into question and I want to make sure that there's a place where these things are easily accessible. Archives
