How does it work?

If you or your student is interested in receiving tutoring from Ms. Patrick, use the link to the left to send me an email and we'll follow the process below:
  1. Ms. Patrick will respond with a brief questionnaire to evaluate your needs (i.e. what class you are in, what book you are using, what your concerns are)
  2. If needed, we'll set up a consultation zoom meeting to go over any questions or concerns.
  3. If we both feel we are a good fit for each other, we'll set up a time for a tutoring session via zoom.

You can read about my qualifications here.

How much does it cost?

To answer this question I am following a "pay it from the heart" perspective (credit to Mark Silver). This is not a "pay what you want" scenario but rather asks that you check in with yourself and your heart to find out what feels right. The hope is that we both feel good about what we give and what we receive.

Tutoring rates vary greatly in the United States and many factors come into play. A tutor can cost anywhere from under $20 an hour to over $80 an hour. Additionally rates can change based on need of the student and experience of the tutor. What is sustainable for me as a tutor includes the price of $50 for an hour session. If you can pay more than that, you are helping me support those who can pay less.

My minimum request is $35.00. But, if this service really supports your or your student and paying $35.00 puts your food and shelter at risk, I invite you to pay less. I understand and you don't have to explain.

Example Payments

  • $35 a session is my minimum request aside from food and shelter exception.
  • $40 a session might work well for you and be what you are able to contribute
  • $50 a session is my sustainable payment and the amount I'm asking you to pay, if you can.
  • $60 a session is an additional payment. While still a fair amount among tutoring with my experience, it supports me in helping those who pay less than the sustainable price.
When we schedule your first session, you will indicate what your payment from the heart will be via email.
