Why Students of Color Don't Take Latin
This excellent article by John Bracey discusses his experience as a Latin teacher and person of colour. It takes a look at the elitist and racist history of Latin classes and how we can begin to address these issues. 
In this blog post, Miriam reviews research on the over identification of African American males within special education and statistics that show African American males receive harsher punishments than their white peers. The author makes ten suggestions for teachers as well.
Article review: Behaving while black
Latin Behind Bars: Teaching Latin in an American Prison
This article written by Jessica Wright talks about her experience teaching Latin in an American prison and the experience of seeing the humanity that is already present in others and "the desire to find out what Latin looks like from the perspective of somebody else".
